This widespread cheating operation came to light through reports from Bangladesh Reports journalists and representatives across four districts: Jamalpur, Kushtia, Naogaon, and Jaipurhat. The second phase of the primary recruitment exam, held Friday, February 2nd from 10 AM to 11 PM, became the stage for these unethical attempts.
Jamalpur: Teachers Caught Red-Handed in Exam Scandal:
The members of the detective branch (DB) of the district police have arrested two people, including a teacher, at Sarishabari in Jamalpur. They have been accused of accepting money by promising to pass the recruitment test and get a job. The arrested persons are Sarishabari East Boyra Government Primary School assistant teacher Md. Abul Kalam (48) and the cable network businessman of Islampur upazila. Mostafizur Rahman (36). They were arrested from Mirza Azam Chattar in Jamalpur last Thursday evening.
DB-1 Officer Kazi Shahnewaz confirmed that the arrested duo were sentenced to jail the following day by the court. Their fraudulent scheme demanded hefty sums ranging from Tk 10 to 15 lakhs from job seekers and even collecting advance payments. Authorities confiscated three exam admit cards, four mobile phones, an ATM card, and Tk 1 lakh in cash from the apprehended parties.
Kushtia: Mobile Court Delivers Swift Justice:
In Kushtia, a mobile court sentenced a job seeker named Suman (27) to seven days’ imprisonment for tampering with his answer sheet (OMR sheet). Additionally, five aspiring educators were disqualified for failing to fill in the lower portion of their answer sheets. This incident unfolded at the Kushtia Collectorate School and College during the exam. The expelled individuals were identified as Shahabul Islam, Shimul Hossain, Johnny Islam, Subas Ali, and Aminul Islam, all hailing from Mirpur Upazila.
Executive Magistrate Mohsin Uddin of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office presided over the mobile court, delivering swift justice for the detected offenses.
